About the Role
NexPro Energy is a dynamic and fully integrated independent exploration and production company with a rapidly growing upstream portfolio in Nigeria. We are currently preparing an offshore marginal field for first oil and expanding our core technical team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Lead Geologist will spearhead subsurface operations, take complete ownership of the field geological model, and drive exploration strategies from drilling through full-field development and asset maturation.
Key Responsibilities- Own and continuously update the field geological model, encompassing structural and stratigraphic frameworks derived from 3D seismic data, petrophysical evaluations, and reserve uncertainty analyses.
- Formulate comprehensive well prognoses and geological contents for drilling and data acquisition programmes while directly supervising wellsite geology throughout the campaign.
- Execute precise well-to-seismic ties, re-map the field using calibrated interpretations, and rigorously revise volumetric estimates and fluid contacts.
- Provide critical geological foundations for the post-first-oil Field Development Plan, influencing well placement, facility siting, and operational phasing based on reservoir geometry and compartmentalisation.
- Mature the subsurface model across the producing life of the asset, supporting appraisal, development, and infill wells to optimize recovery and extend field life.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Geology or Geoscience.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in subsurface geology, seamlessly bridging well operations and development geoscience.
- Advanced expertise in 3D seismic interpretation, well-to-seismic ties, velocity modelling, and depth conversion.
- Proven proficiency in static modelling, petrophysical evaluation, and probabilistic volumetric estimation with robust uncertainty ranges.
- Extensive well operations background, including geological programming, wellsite supervision, and real-time decision-making for tops and casing points.
- Ability to work on-site in Lagos with flexibility for critical rig-site and offshore visits during active well operations.
- Readiness to assume duties within 4 to 6 weeks of receiving an offer.
- Competitive remuneration package commensurate with industry standards and candidate experience.Opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in a high-impact offshore Nigerian oil and gas development project.Collaborative, dynamic work environment focused on career growth and operational excellence.
