About the Role
Ramos Electric Power Limited (REPL) is a dynamic power generation company currently developing a greenfield 600 MW lignite-fired mine-mouth power plant in Obomkpa, Delta State. We are seeking a visionary and technically proficient Lead Electrical & Grid Engineer to serve as our technical authority for all plant electrical systems, the 330 kV grid connection, and the private 132 kV network supplying the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Key Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive electrical design bases, single-line diagrams, and auxiliary-power load lists for the power generation facility.
- Specify and oversee the procurement of generators, step-up transformers, switchgear, DC/UPS systems, and emergency black-start supplies.
- Lead Transmission Company of Nigeria (NERC and TCN) grid-connection studies, agreements, and 330 kV switchyard design requirements.
- Design the private 132 kV SEZ network, 330/132 kV transformers, substations, and the 33 kV mine supply infrastructure.
- Establish frequency, voltage control, load shedding, and island operation protocols for seamless plant and SEZ network synchronization.
- Ensure full compliance with IEC standards and the Nigerian Grid Code across all protection, SCADA, and metering systems.
- Author electrical sections for EPC Employer Requirements and lead rigorous technical bid evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in Electrical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in power generation or transmission, with 5+ years focused on large-scale power plant electrical design (100 MW+).
- Demonstrated expertise with 330 kV/132 kV substations, grid code compliance, and power-system simulation tools like ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
- Active COREN registration or eligibility to secure it within three months of employment.
- In-depth knowledge of TCN application procedures and IPP grid integration within West Africa.
