We are currently seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Cost Engineer / Chief Estimator to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive industry expertise to drive cost estimation excellence, ensure competitive bidding, and contribute to the continued growth of indigenous participation in major energy developments across Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and oversight of comprehensive capital cost estimations for complex LNG and gas processing facilities.
  • Produce accurate, independent Class 2 and Class 3 cost estimates for high-value oil and gas projects.
  • Review, evaluate, and certify LSTK (Lump Sum Turnkey) EPC pricing structures in alignment with Export Credit Agency (ECA) supported project requirements.
  • Utilize and manage advanced bidder benchmarking databases to validate pricing, market rates, and overall cost competitiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, procurement, and project management teams to mitigate financial risks.
  • Provide expert guidance on cost control methodologies, budget forecasting, and financial optimization throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 20 years of proven professional experience in capital cost estimation specifically within the LNG or gas processing sectors.
  • Demonstrated personal experience in producing independent Class 2 and Class 3 estimates.
  • Extensive track record of certifying LSTK EPC prices on ECA-supported energy projects.
  • High level of competence in operating and analyzing bidder benchmarking databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas business environment, regulatory frameworks, and local content requirements.
