About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja, a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an exceptional Lead Anaesthetist. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of our anaesthesia services, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care while providing visionary clinical leadership to our dedicated medical team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive clinical leadership to the anaesthesia team, guiding complex surgical cases and managing critical care protocols.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery, technology integration, and departmental growth.
- Drive robust clinical governance, quality improvement audits, and strict adherence to international patient safety standards.
- Mentor junior anaesthetists and residents, fostering a high-performance culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including surgical, operating room, and intensive care units, to optimize patient care pathways.
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution with a valid and current medical license.
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology, such as FWACS, FMCNA, or an equivalent international certification.
- Proven expertise in advanced regional anaesthesia, difficult airway management, and critical care.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and team management within a major healthcare facility.
