About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja, a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a dedicated Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician. In this vital role, you will provide advanced, evidence-based care in our dynamic Emergency Department, guiding multidisciplinary teams and setting new standards for emergency healthcare in West Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, and urgent management for acute medical and surgical emergencies.
- Lead resuscitation efforts and perform critical emergency procedures, including intubation and central line placement.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior medical staff, medical students, and nursing personnel.
- Drive quality improvement, clinical governance, and adherence to international patient safety standards.
- Collaborate seamlessly with critical care, radiology, surgery, and external referral services.
- MBBS or equivalent primary medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship in Emergency Medicine with a minimum of 5 years of post-specialisation experience.
- Current valid practicing medical license in Nigeria or eligibility to obtain one.
- Valid Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certifications.
- Proven expertise in managing high-acuity cases with a strong background in clinical research and education.
