Our mission is to transform the publishing landscape in Nigeria and the wider African continent through dynamic interventions in academic, educational, and special publications. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Layout Designer to join our dynamic publishing team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop professional page layouts for books, magazines, journals, and educational materials from manuscript to final artwork.
- Apply appropriate typography, spacing, alignment, margins, grids, and visual hierarchy to ensure optimal readability and aesthetic appeal.
- Format complex elements including tables, charts, illustrations, equations, references, footnotes, and indexes accurately.
- Utilize Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and CorelDraw proficiently to create, format, revise, and package publication files.
- Collaborate closely with editors, proofreaders, and graphic designers to incorporate feedback and meet strict production deadlines.
- Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure final files meet the highest technical, pre-press, and printing standards.
- B.Sc. or HND in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Publishing, Computer Graphics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in publishing, book production, typesetting, or layout design.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and CorelDraw.
- Strong understanding of printing, prepress production processes, and publication design standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
