About the Role
Paradise Palms Lodge & Suites is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Staff member to join our dynamic hospitality team. Located in the vibrant commercial and residential hub of Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, our lodge offers a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our guests enjoy an exceptional stay by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, freshness, and presentation for all linens, towels, and guest garments. Key Responsibilities- Collect soiled linens, towels, and guest garments from various departments and rooms safely and efficiently.
- Sort laundry items based on fabric type, color, and degree of soil to determine appropriate washing cycles and temperatures.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment in adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
- Inspect finished laundry for stains, damage, or wear, and re-wash or report damaged items as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and hang clean linens and garments neatly, organizing them for easy distribution to housekeeping and rooms.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry work area, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and reporting any faults promptly.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or relevant vocational training in hospitality or textile care.
- Proven working experience as a laundry attendant or in a similar housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or lodge environment.
- Strong knowledge of various fabrics, washing techniques, and stain removal agents.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting laundry baskets and operating heavy machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
