In this vital role, you will support our academic departments by maintaining state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, assisting with research projects, and ensuring a safe, efficient learning environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and set up equipment, instruments, and materials for practical laboratory sessions and demonstrations.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Enforce strict safety protocols, waste disposal guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards within the laboratory environment.
- Assist undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as academic staff, during research activities and experiments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of chemical reagents, consumables, and laboratory hardware, requesting replenishment as needed.
- Support faculty members in developing new practical manuals and testing innovative experimental procedures.
- Hold a National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Possess proven professional experience working as a technologist in an academic, medical, or industrial laboratory setting.
- Must maintain active registration, valid certification, and licensing with the relevant professional regulatory council in Nigeria.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards, quality control, and scientific equipment handling.
