We are currently recruiting a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our technical operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in conducting routine chemical, physical, and analytical tests on various samples including crude oil, refined products, water, and chemicals. Key Responsibilities- Collect, receive, label, prepare, and preserve laboratory samples in compliance with established protocols.
- Perform routine chemical, physical, and analytical testing on crude oil, refined products, water, chemicals, and drilling fluids.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, balances, spectrometers, chromatographs, and centrifuges.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, standards, and test samples accurately while maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Record test results meticulously, maintain accurate sample tracking, and support chain-of-custody documentation.
- Identify abnormal or out-of-specification results, assist with investigations, and report discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
- Ensure hazardous substances and chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in strict accordance with HSE guidelines.
- Participate in laboratory audits, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and report safety incidents immediately.
- Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Laboratory Technology, Chemical Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a laboratory, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial testing environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures, analytical techniques, and quality control standards.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements is considered a distinct advantage.
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
