About the Role
Rouz Hospital and Maternity, a leading 24-hour secondary healthcare facility located in Gudu District, Garki, Abuja, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist. In this vital role, you will ensure high standards of diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and efficient laboratory operations to support our comprehensive medical, surgical, and pediatric services.
Key Responsibilities- Process microbiology samples accurately while strictly adhering to established laboratory protocols and safety guidelines.
- Identify microorganisms using a combination of classical microbiology techniques and modern instrumental methods.
- Ensure prompt and accurate data entry of all test results into relevant hospital records and management systems.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date laboratory paperwork, documentation, and digital logs.
- Monitor, manage, and inventory laboratory consumable stocks and equipment efficiently.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, safe, fully functional, and well-organized.
- Report deviations, change controls, and out-of-specification results in a timely manner while following escalation procedures.
- Ensure all corrective and preventive actions are diligently followed through to maintain quality standards.
- Provide supervisory cover and operational support for the lead Medical Laboratory Scientist when necessary.
- Possess a B.Sc or HND in Science Laboratory Technology or Microbiology.
- Must be officially registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) as a Laboratory Technician or Scientist.
- Demonstrated professional experience in clinical laboratory procedures and sample processing.
- Proficient in computer operations with excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Must currently reside in Abuja, preferably within close proximity to Garki and the Gudu District.
