About the Role
BeaconHealth Diagnostics is revolutionizing diagnostic care in Nigeria through an innovative network of clinics, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team in Umuahia. In this vital role, you will ensure our laboratory runs seamlessly by receiving specimens, performing routine tests, managing inventory, and supporting Medical Laboratory Scientists to deliver accurate results using our proprietary digital platform, BeaconOS.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, process, and evaluate patient samples for testing suitability using appropriate laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including pH measurements and bacterial culturing, adhering strictly to safety guidelines.
- Document all activities, record results, and manage data efficiently using our digital system, BeaconOS.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure proper waste disposal, and keep the environment clean and organized.
- Welcome patients warmly during specimen collection, ensuring comfort while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- OND, HND, or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science or Laboratory Technology.
- Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) as a technician.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong computer literacy and a methodical, accurate approach to clinical procedures.
