About the Role
Baker Hughes, one of the world's largest oilfield services companies operating in over 90 countries, is recruiting a Laboratory Specialist - Cementing to join our dynamic technical team. In this pivotal role, you will support critical laboratory operations that enable our drilling, completion, and production services across the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive laboratory tests on cementing products, samples, and systems to ensure compliance with industry specifications
- Collect, analyze, and document test results with detailed technical reporting and explanations
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and work areas to optimal operational standards
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis within laboratory operations
- Collaborate with internal customers on specific projects, delivering expert technical guidance
- Mentor junior laboratory staff and promote adherence to company and industry safety standards
- Execute project presentations and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory testing, analytical characterization, and measurement techniques
- Strong knowledge of fluids and chemical properties used in the oil and gas industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent project management and technical report writing capabilities
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 2-4 weeks annually)
