About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent leader in wheat milling and the producer of the trusted Golden Penny brand, is looking for a meticulous Laboratory Assistant to join our Niger Mills team in Calabar. This role is essential in supporting our Quality Control Manager to verify raw materials, monitor production standards, and ensure our food products consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine physio-chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products to ensure conformity with target standards.
- Monitor chemical micro-feeders to guarantee proper treatment of products with additives and micro-nutrients.
- Perform regular test baking of production and packaging samples to evaluate overall performance and quality.
- Inspect finished product packaging and weight regularly to maintain compliance with established specifications.
- Perform physio-chemical analysis of diesel supplies to ensure strict adherence to company standards.
- Participate actively in plant fumigation exercises and comply with QMS and FSMS regulations.
- Minimum of O'Level / SSCE qualification with credits in Mathematics and English in not more than two sittings.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, or related environment.
- Prior FMCG experience, particularly within the food processing industry, is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
