About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to holistic wellness, cutting-edge research, and compassionate patient care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Lab Technician to join our state-of-the-art Laboratories department and contribute to our mission of advancing healthcare excellence in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests accurately under the supervision of senior medical laboratory scientists.
- Collect, process, and label patient specimens efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments regularly to ensure optimal performance.
- Record test results meticulously in the hospital database and maintain comprehensive inventory logs of lab supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support timely and accurate patient diagnoses.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards within the laboratory environment.
- Must possess a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution or College of Health Technology.
- Valid practicing license and current registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated relevant post-qualification experience and high professional competence in a clinical setting.
- Strong integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be fully ICT compliant with proficiency in using laboratory information systems and office software.
