About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University, a prestigious and historically renowned public institution in Ile-Ife, Osun State, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lab Supervisor to join our vibrant academic community. Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of university science laboratories to ensure optimal functionality.
- Manage laboratory inventory, equipment calibration, and procurement of necessary reagents and science supplies.
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols within all laboratory workspaces.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior laboratory staff, technicians, and undergraduate or postgraduate students.
- Collaborate with academic departments to support practical teaching sessions, demonstrations, and complex research projects.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage, equipment maintenance schedules, and safety incident reports.
- Possession of five O'Level credit passes at not more than two sittings, including two relevant Science subjects.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant laboratory supervisory experience in an academic or research institution.
- Must hold a recognized, prescribed proficiency certification in laboratory management or a related technical field.
- Strong working knowledge of modern laboratory equipment, safety regulations, and chemical handling procedures.
