About the Role
The National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN), an autonomous inter-university centre regulated by the National Universities Commission (NUC), is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant. In this vital support role, you will assist faculty, researchers, and students in maintaining and operating our specialized language and computer laboratories, ensuring a seamless and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for practical sessions, demonstrations, and research activities.
- Assist students and academic staff with the proper handling and usage of laboratory hardware and software.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all laboratory supplies, equipment, and learning materials.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, cleanliness, and organization within all institute laboratories.
- Provide general administrative and technical support to the department as required by management.
- Possession of relevant academic qualifications, such as a National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or relevant certificate in computer science, laboratory technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated competence, professional integrity, and a strong commitment to the academic objectives of the Institute.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
- Basic technical proficiency in troubleshooting computer systems and audio-visual or language laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
