About the Role
Rustic Cheers Restaurant & Lounge is an inviting casual dining spot located at Shop A2, Kajo Mall, Fate Road, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It is highly popular for its cozy ambiance, continental dishes, and lively weekly karaoke events. We are currently looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team and help us maintain our high standards of food quality and kitchen cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the head chef and line cooks with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-organized workstation, including refrigerators, storage areas, and cooking surfaces.
- Ensure proper storage of food items, adhering to health and safety regulations to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and kitchen utensils efficiently throughout operating hours.
- Manage kitchen waste disposal and ensure general sanitation standards are met daily.
- Support inventory checks and restock kitchen supplies as needed by the culinary team.
- Minimum of SSCE, NECO, or relevant professional certification in hospitality, catering, or a related field.
- Previous proven experience working in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or lounge setting is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of basic food hygiene, safety practices, and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for long hours, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well within a diverse team.
- Residency in Ilorin, Kwara State, or willingness to commute to Fate Road reliably.
