About the Role
Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) is a leading international oil and gas operator committed to sustainable resource development in the Niger Delta. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Joint Venture (JV) Budget Accountant to join our dynamic Finance department in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing joint venture financial obligations, cost allocations, and stakeholder reporting while driving fiscal accountability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly joint venture financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to JV agreements and accounting standards.
- Assist in the comprehensive preparation of budgets, forecasts, and detailed variance analyses.
- Monitor joint venture costs and expenditures to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and effective cost recovery.
- Allocate shared costs appropriately and investigate or resolve any cost allocation discrepancies.
- Support period-end close processes and assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with JV partners, internal departments, and external stakeholders to handle partner billings and cash calls.
- Provide strategic financial insights and drive process improvements across financial operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry-related experience, with at least 3 years specifically in a similar joint venture accounting role within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS or GAAP standards and joint venture accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
