About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company in Sub-Saharan Africa, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Internal Auditor – Systems & Procurement to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will protect our internal controls related to information technology and provide critical assurance to the Procurement Director through the Country Internal Control Lead. You will play a key part in mitigating risks, ensuring data security, and optimizing company resources across our subsidiaries and strategic business units in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Safeguard information security by identifying IT weaknesses, examining systems, and agreeing on prevention strategies.
- Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of IT and procurement internal controls, identifying risks and proposing remediation strategies.
- Design effective and efficient procurement processes, test controls, and perform root cause analyses to implement action plans.
- Develop the annual Internal Control plan for Information Technology covering subsidiaries and business units.
- Monitor compliance with purchase requisition release strategies, direct payment criteria, and Group IT policies.
- Conduct data analytics for audit assignments and coordinate internal control systems (ICS) for the procurement organization.
- Support the preparation of report packages for the Board and audit committees while coordinating with external auditors.
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- Mandatory membership of ISACA (CISA Certification) or another relevant professional body.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in internal audit, internal control, or assurance within a multinational or Big Four firm.
- Strong familiarity with ERP platforms, business systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
