About the Role
Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (Heritage Energy), operator of the flagship OML 30 asset in the Niger Delta, is seeking a results-driven Cost Controller to join our dynamic Finance department. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager of Finance, this critical role oversees end-to-end financial management and cost control for our Operations and Maintenance business activities, driving sustainable value creation across all stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic cost analysis, robust budgetary control, and maximize profitability through rigorous forecasting and cost optimization.
- Monitor contracts, track expenditures, and drive cost reduction initiatives aligned with value creation objectives.
- Prepare monthly accruals, cash flow estimates, and detailed variance analyses for financial stakeholders.
- Ensure strict compliance with vendor contracts, review and code invoices, distribute for operational review, and resolve contractual vendor disputes.
- Manage external partner audits, prepare audit responses, and maintain comprehensive cost analyses of actual expenditures for future budgeting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related financial field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost engineering or cost control, including at least 5 years specifically within the Nigerian Oil and Gas E&P sector.
- Deep expertise in Nigerian upstream oil and gas mechanics, Joint Ventures, and Production Sharing Contracts.
- Proven proficiency in major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
