About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a hub of medical excellence dedicated to holistic wellness, medical education, and innovative patient care. We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Junior Resident Doctor to join our Paediatrics department. In this role, you will work at the vibrant intersection of research and clinical practice, providing exceptional healthcare to young patients while advancing your professional career within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive clinical care and medical evaluation for paediatric patients under the supervision of senior medical staff.
- Participate actively in ward rounds, clinics, emergency paediatric services, and departmental meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in compliance with hospital standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development, clinical research, and academic activities within the teaching hospital.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate high standards of professional integrity, empathy, and effective communication with patients and their families.
- MBBS degree or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
- Current Registration and practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Previous clinical experience from a recognized tertiary institution and post-NYSC experience will be an added advantage.
- Must be ICT compliant and able to utilize modern hospital management systems.
