We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Junior Port Operator to join our client's team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the seamless coordination of vessel and port operations, contributing to efficient maritime logistics and exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and support vessel berthing and comprehensive port call activities.
- Assist with end-to-end crew change arrangements, including documentation and local logistics.
- Manage husbandry services such as provisions, spare parts, and transportation for vessels.
- Liaise effectively with NPA, NIMASA, Customs, terminals, immigration, and other relevant maritime authorities.
- Prepare, process, and track port, vessel, and customs documentation accurately.
- Monitor vessel arrival, berthing, operations, and departure schedules in real-time.
- Communicate professionally with ship masters, agents, terminals, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all port operations comply strictly with applicable local and international maritime regulations.
- Draft detailed operational reports and maintain precise records for management review.
- B.Sc. or HND in Maritime Studies, Shipping and Port Management, Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in port or shipping operations.
- Demonstrated experience working with a maritime agency or shipping company is highly preferred.
- Practical knowledge of vessel berthing, crew changes, husbandry, and customs clearance procedures.
- Strong familiarity with Nigerian port operations and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
