About the Role
Powergas Nigeria, a subsidiary of Powergas Africa, is Africa's leading compressed natural gas (CNG) distributor and pioneer in off-pipeline gas distribution. We provide CNG solutions to clients where piped natural gas is unavailable, operating 5 advanced CNG plants across Nigeria with a combined production capacity exceeding 720,000 standard cubic meters per day. We are currently expanding West Africa's largest CNG facility and seeking a dedicated Junior Maintenance Engineer to join our operations team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our CNG facilities. You'll work with experienced maintenance teams to ensure our equipment operates at peak performance while adhering to strict health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on CNG equipment and facility systems
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they escalate
- Supervise maintenance activities and assist senior engineers with complex repairs
- Prepare detailed maintenance reports and documentation
- Ensure full compliance with company procedures and HSSE regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and safety protocols
- National Diploma (ND) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance principles and safety procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Knowledge of HSSE standards is advantageous
