About the Role
Resurgir Consulting is currently recruiting a dynamic and passionate Home Economics / Fashion Design & Garment Making Teacher for junior-class students in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping young minds by imparting essential life skills, fostering creativity, and building a strong foundation in textile arts and practical home economics.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Home Economics to junior-class students in alignment with the approved school curriculum.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on practical lessons in Fashion Design and Garment Making.
- Instruct students on basic sewing techniques, garment construction, fabric handling, precise body measurements, and professional finishing.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, and creative practical activities.
- Assess, monitor, and document students' academic progress and practical skill development.
- Maintain proper records of attendance, continuous assessments, and overall student performance.
- Foster positive classroom discipline and create an encouraging, inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure the safe and proper use and maintenance of sewing equipment and specialized teaching materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues by participating in school meetings, professional training, and extracurricular activities.
- Minimum of an HND or BSc in Home Economics, Education, Fashion Design, or a closely related field.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant teaching or practical instruction experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Home Economics and advanced garment-making techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency in practical sewing, pattern drafting, and apparel construction.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom-management skills.
