About the Role
eHealth4everyone is a leading digital health social enterprise dedicated to making the world healthier through technology-enabled optimizations. We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Engineer with foundational knowledge of PHP, Drupal, and Symfony to join our dynamic technical team in Nigeria. In this role, you will help develop, maintain, and improve a critical health information platform that empowers healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Support the maintenance and development of backend features on a Drupal-based platform.
- Develop and modify Drupal modules and backend functionality under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Work with Symfony components and PHP to implement and maintain application functionality.
- Support API development, system integration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Work with relational databases, SQL, and backend data structures.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities while adhering to security standards.
- Assist with technical support and document system changes for team knowledge transfer.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant professional experience, internships, strong academic projects, or open-source contributions.
- Solid foundation in backend development with basic to intermediate knowledge of PHP.
- Practical exposure to Drupal (preferably Drupal 9/10) and Symfony.
- Understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Git version control, software testing, and debugging.
- Desirable experience includes Docker, Linux, CI/CD, and health information systems.
