About the Role
Hotel Capitol is a premier three-star hospitality destination strategically located in the heart of Omole Phase 1, Lagos. We pride ourselves on delivering luxury and comfort through our tastefully furnished rooms and suites. To support our expanding operations, we are currently seeking a diligent, analytical, and professional Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring seamless financial reporting within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with company standards.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other essential financial documents.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including monitoring outstanding balances.
- Perform regular bank, cash, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and summaries.
- Contribute to payroll preparation and process related accounting entries accurately.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and basic financial analysis.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and schedules.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and uphold strict financial controls.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant professional accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or service sector.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, standards, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting software.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
