About the Role

Cobranet Limited, a premier internet service provider incorporated in 2003, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager to join our corporate finance team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee end-to-end billing operations, manage credit control functions, and lead a dedicated team to ensure optimal cash flow and minimal financial risk for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, and guide a high-performing team of Credit Control Officers to maximize debt recovery and maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Formulate and implement robust company credit policies to mitigate financial risks associated with commercial and consumer collections.
  • Review credit applications, conduct thorough reference checks, and establish appropriate credit limits to determine creditworthiness.
  • Prepare accurate journal entries, credit notes, and provide comprehensive support during month-end closing activities.
  • Review and report regularly on Aged Debtors to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Engage and negotiate terms with third-party debt collection agencies to resolve complex delinquent accounts.
  • Oversee bad debt provisions, manage write-offs, and establish realistic payment plans for overdue accounts.
  • Continuously review and refine billing and collection processes and procedures to significantly reduce debtor days.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in end-to-end billing, accounts receivable, and credit control domains.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management and leadership within a structured finance department.
  • Solid working knowledge of applicable credit laws and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in accounting software packages and advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills, especially when handling difficult customer accounts.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and build lasting stakeholder relationships.
