About the Role
Diamond Special College, a prominent Cambridge-approved private co-educational secondary school located in Owerri, Imo State, is seeking diligent and trustworthy Janitors to join our dedicated support staff. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment across our campus, ensuring our students and staff enjoy an optimal atmosphere for learning and development. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, hallways, and restroom facilities.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors, as well as vacuum carpets and rugs regularly.
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste safely, and maintain clean outdoor surroundings.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces including doorknobs, handrails, and light switches to promote health and safety.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards promptly to the school administration.
- Assist with the setup of venues for school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
- Minimum of First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) or SSCE qualification.
- Proven professional experience as a janitor, cleaner, or in a similar facility maintenance role will be a distinct advantage.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of personal hygiene and integrity.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with other school staff.
