About the Role
Irisfield Montessori School is an approved child-centred Montessori and primary education learning centre located in a serene residential community within Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Established in October 2014, the school caters to children from early years (toddlers from 12 months) up to Grade 6 (11 years). We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor to join our dedicated support team and ensure our campus remains spotless, safe, and welcoming for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and administrative offices daily.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and solutions.
- Empty trash cans, dispose of waste properly, and sanitize bins regularly.
- Maintain cleanliness of school grounds, play areas, and surrounding outdoor pathways.
- Report any maintenance issues, repairs needed, or safety hazards promptly to school administration.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored securely and inventory is monitored.
- Assist with setting up rooms for school events, meetings, and special Montessori activities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Nigeria.
- Proven work experience as a janitor, custodian, or similar cleaning role is an advantage.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow safety guidelines.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle cleaning duties, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
