About the Role
Helen Keller International is dedicated to saving the sight and lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged by combating the causes of blindness and malnutrition through evidence-based programs. We are currently seeking a dedicated and trustworthy Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of our office premises, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize office spaces, including workstations, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and equipment on a regular basis.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper waste disposal in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Replenish essential supplies such as soap, tissue paper, and hand sanitizers.
- Support basic office setup for meetings and events, including arranging furniture.
- Report facility issues such as plumbing or electrical faults promptly to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Monitor cleaning inventory and report restocking needs to avoid shortages.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate.
- Prior professional experience in cleaning or janitorial services is a strong advantage.
- Basic knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and equipment handling.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform routine tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting.
- Demonstrated honesty, reliability, integrity, and strong attention to detail.
- Good time management skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
