About the Role
Slum2School Africa is a dynamic, volunteer-driven developmental organization committed to transforming society by empowering disadvantaged children to realize their full potential. Founded in 2012, we address critical shortcomings in Africa's educational sector by providing scholarships, creating innovative learning spaces, and offering comprehensive psychosocial support to vulnerable children living in slums and indigent communities. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our dedicated team in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming environments for our staff, volunteers, and the children we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming across all assigned offices, common areas, and learning spaces.
- Ensure proper sanitization of high-touch surfaces, restrooms, and kitchen facilities to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment.
- Manage the safe disposal of waste, empty trash bins regularly, and maintain cleanliness in waste collection areas.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and inventory, submitting timely requests for replenishment to the administrative team.
- Report any maintenance issues, repairs, or safety hazards observed during routine cleaning to facility management promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines set by the organization and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Minimum of a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) or SSCE qualification.
- Proven previous work experience as a cleaner, custodian, or in a similar janitorial role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and the use of sanitation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive work ethic and high level of personal integrity.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently with minimal supervision.
