About the Role
Aster Bloom Academy is a premier private educational institution located in the prestigious Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Following our recent rebranding from Chucklers Heights Montessori and our exciting expansion into secondary education at our new permanent site, we are committed to maintaining world-class standards across all our facilities. We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitor to join our dedicated support team and ensure our campus remains spotless, safe, and welcoming every single day.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance duties across classrooms, administrative offices, hallways, restrooms, and recreational areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors regularly, ensuring they are free from hazards and debris at all times.
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste properly, and sanitize bins to maintain optimal hygiene standards.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors regularly to maintain a clear and polished appearance throughout the campus.
- Handle routine upkeep, report any facility damage or maintenance issues promptly to management, and assist with minor repairs as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment are stored safely and securely, away from student reach.
- Support school event setups and teardowns by arranging furniture and maintaining cleanliness before and after activities.
- Minimum of a relevant qualification or school leaving certificate with proven experience in janitorial, custodial, or cleaning services.
- Good knowledge of safe cleaning methods, chemical handling, and the proper use of sanitation equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining a pristine environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative school support team.
- Residency in Benin City, Edo State, with close proximity to the GRA location is an added advantage.
