About the Role

International Medical Corps delivers lifesaving healthcare and emergency services in disaster-prone and fragile regions worldwide, empowering local communities to build long-term self-reliance. We are seeking an experienced Advisor for our Global Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Technical Unit to provide high-level technical oversight, programmatic guidance, and capacity building support across global and country-level operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for culturally appropriate MHPSS programs, including primary health care integration, case management, and early childhood development.
  • Assist country teams with comprehensive project proposal development, grant writing, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities strictly adhere to global standards, including the IASC Guidelines on MHPSS in Emergency Settings.
  • Support cross-cutting integration across MHPSS, Nutrition, Health, Child Protection, and Gender-Based Violence sectors.
  • Develop standardized Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools to measure program outcomes, capture lessons learned, and drive evidence-based improvements.
  • Represent International Medical Corps in international conferences, working groups, and strategic stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct frequent field visits to provide hands-on technical assistance, staff mentoring, and detailed situational reporting.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a mental health profession such as psychology, clinical social worker, psychiatry, or psychiatric nurse.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience designing and managing MHPSS programs in humanitarian and low-resource settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global humanitarian guidelines, particularly IASC standards.
  • Proven expertise in staff training, capacity building, and remote team mentorship.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Flexibility and readiness to travel frequently and on short notice to challenging project locations.
