About the Role
Koins Microfinance Bank Limited is a fully licensed technology and impact-driven microfinance bank dedicated to driving financial inclusion through innovative loans, savings, and investment solutions. We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated IT Control Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our digital infrastructure by monitoring, reviewing, and testing information technology controls across all systems, applications, and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Review and monitor user access to critical banking systems, databases, and servers to ensure alignment with the principle of least privilege.
- Conduct periodic access reviews, privileged account monitoring, and segregation-of-duties evaluations.
- Evaluate IT change management controls to ensure all infrastructure and application changes are properly authorized, tested, and documented.
- Monitor operational controls such as end-of-day processing, batch jobs, system interfaces, and incident management activities.
- Assess cybersecurity controls, including firewalls, endpoint security, encryption, and vulnerability management tools.
- Execute IT control assessments covering IT General Controls, operating systems, networks, and data backup and recovery mechanisms.
- Test application controls within core banking systems like T24, NIP, and mobile banking platforms to maintain data integrity.
- Identify and report control deficiencies, compliance gaps, and risks while tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Participate in IT-related fraud investigations by analyzing system access, logs, and transaction trails.
- Contribute to the execution of the Annual IT Control and Audit Plan to mitigate emerging technological threats.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in IT audit, IT risk management, or IT controls within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of core banking applications (e.g., T24), payment gateways (e.g., NIP), and mobile banking infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGCs), cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
