About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a skilled Server Administrator 1 to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the administration, protection, and operational reliability of enterprise database platforms and backup systems supporting our mission-critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Design and implement enterprise backup strategies, automated retention policies, and rigorous recovery testing.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring alignment with RTO and RPO objectives.
- Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Implement database security policies, access controls, encryption, and compliance measures.
- Collaborate with DevOps, cybersecurity, and application teams to support seamless infrastructure integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience in database administration, backup and recovery management, and enterprise data infrastructure.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or Commvault Certified Engineer.
