About the Role

Shehu Shagari Model Islamic Centre (SSMIC) is a prominent integrated educational institution located at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Section 2, Garki, Abuja. The centre serves as a beacon of academic excellence and spiritual development, blending conventional Nigerian educational curriculum with profound Islamic and moral guidance. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Islamic Studies and Arabic Teacher for our secondary school section to inspire students and foster a deep understanding of Islamic values, culture, and language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Islamic Studies and Arabic language to secondary school students in alignment with approved educational standards.
  • Develop detailed lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents during consultations.
  • Instil sound Islamic morals, ethics, and spiritual discipline among students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Participate in school co-curricular activities, Islamic programs, parent-teacher meetings, and staff professional development workshops.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and holistic learning.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Education, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of active teaching experience in a reputable secondary school or Islamic educational institution.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, with a strong command of classical Arabic and Islamic jurisprudence.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • A strong commitment to upholding Islamic moral standards and fostering spiritual growth in young learners.
