About the Role
Shehu Shagari Model Islamic Centre (SSMIC), a prominent integrated educational institution located at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Garki, Abuja, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Islamic Studies and Arabic Teacher. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Islamic Studies and Arabic language tailored to primary school pupils.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with both the Nigerian primary curriculum and SSMIC educational standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and spiritually uplifting classroom environment that encourages moral uprightness and academic curiosity.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to learners and parents to support academic and personal growth.
- Organize and participate in school religious activities, Quranic recitation events, and cultural programs.
- Instill Islamic etiquette (Adab) and values in daily interactions with pupils, serving as a positive role model.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Education, or a related relevant field.
- At least three (3) years of proven teaching experience in primary education, specifically teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies.
- Exceptional fluency in spoken and written Arabic, with a strong command of English for effective communication.
- Deep understanding of Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic studies, and pedagogical methods suited for young learners.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
