About the Role
Resurgir Consulting is partnering with a leading supermarket client in Lagos to hire a dynamic and diligent Inventory Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, coordinating stock movement, and ensuring that products are properly received, stored, and replenished to minimize losses and support seamless retail operations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain accurate electronic and physical records of all supermarket inventory.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery notes and invoices.
- Record all stock received, issued, transferred, damaged, expired, or returned promptly.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with inventory databases.
- Track fast-moving, slow-moving, and expiring products to minimize waste and stockouts.
- Ensure products are properly arranged, labelled, and stored according to safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and discrepancy reports.
- Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to optimize stock forecasting and replenishment.
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory management, stock control, or supermarket retail operations.
- Strong computer literacy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory software.
- Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work a 6-day work week in a fast-paced retail environment.
