About the Role
Najec FMCG Limited is a trusted and established leader in the distribution and supply of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a dedicated, analytical, and trustworthy Inventory Officer to join our dynamic operations team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary custodian of company stock, taking complete accountability for inventory integrity, accurate record-keeping, and robust stock control measures that directly support our fast-paced supply chain network.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate daily records of all stock received, issued, transferred, and available in the warehouse.
- Conduct and coordinate regular physical stock counts while reconciling physical inventory against system records.
- Investigate stock variances promptly and monitor damaged, expired, missing, or slow-moving items.
- Ensure all inventory movements are fully authorized, properly documented, and compliant with internal controls.
- Monitor stock levels continuously to flag potential shortages or overstocking risks ahead of time.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Sales, Warehouse, and Finance departments regarding stock requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive inventory reports within strict deadlines, including the mandatory monthly report by the 3rd working day.
- Escalate suspected losses, discrepancies, damages, or expiry issues immediately to management.
- Possession of an OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven experience in inventory, store, or warehouse management, preferably within the FMCG or distribution sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with modern inventory management or ERP systems.
- Strong numeracy skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a high level of personal integrity and honesty.
