About the Role
Transport Services Limited is a fully integrated product handling company delivering value-added logistics and distribution services across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a motivated and analytical Internal Control Trainee to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining operational excellence, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards across our regional locations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive risk assessment exercises to identify and mitigate potential risk factors affecting operational strategies and contract implementations.
- Manage the deployment of monitoring, implementation, and compliance activities for existing internal controls across specific operational locations.
- Train and sensitize operational staff on key controls, compliance requirements, and the consequences of non-compliance.
- Execute thorough asset verification exercises to guarantee the accountability of all company assets grouped by contracts while minimizing operational downtime.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in compliance reporting, providing real-time data for any material violations or gaps.
- Investigate, analyze, and report operational variances, including product shortages and losses, with prompt corrective mechanisms.
- Carry out planned and ad-hoc control activities to optimize internal processes and support continuous departmental self-development.
- Possession of a good Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- One to two years of relevant professional experience in internal audit, finance, and control.
- Active student membership in professional bodies such as ACCA or ICAN.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
