The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Consultant Specialist Grade I in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join its esteemed medical team. Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized cardiothoracic surgical care to patients in outpatient clinics, wards, and the operating theatre.
- Participate in emergency surgical coverage and manage complex pre-operative and post-operative cases.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical students, and other allied healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to institutional research initiatives and participate in academic departmental meetings and seminars.
- Ensure strict adherence to clinical governance, patient safety protocols, and professional medical ethics.
- Possession of an MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent primary medical qualification.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) along with a valid, current practicing license.
- Evidence of completion, exemption, or exclusion from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Must hold a recognized postgraduate medical fellowship, such as the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCN) or the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in Surgery.
- Demonstrated clinical excellence and a strong commitment to medical research and education.
