About the Role
Najec FMCG is a committed, time-tested establishment with proven track records in the distribution and supply of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) across Nigeria. We are currently hiring a sharp, independent Internal Control Officer to protect our cash, stock, and receivables across our bustling branches in Garki, Kaura, and Apo.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Internal Control Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.
- Carry out daily and surprise cash counts, and reconcile POS sales, transfers, and bank lodgements.
- Run stock-to-sales checks and physical counts of fast-moving goods, and investigate shortages, damages, returns, and unexplained adjustments.
- Enforce goods-inward rules by verifying deliveries against invoices, quantities, and batch or expiry details.
- Monitor customer credit limits, receivables, and payment mandates to ensure strict compliance with approved company policies.
- Prepare comprehensive filings and weekly control reports for the MD/CEO, actively following up until all flagged issues are fully resolved.
- Recommend practical fixes to close control gaps in a fast-paced, high-volume trading environment.
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and professional traits:
- Possession of an HND or B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in internal control, audit, or finance, with prior FMCG, distribution, or retail experience serving as a strong advantage.
- Partial or full professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern ERP systems.
- Unwavering integrity and the confidence to challenge anyone, regardless of their seniority, to protect company assets.
- Willingness to travel between branches and conduct unannounced physical verification visits.
