We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Account Officer to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and routine reconciliations in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Post daily financial transactions including revenues, operational expenses, and journal entries accurately into the accounting system.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments and proactive revenue collections.
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and daily guest ledgers regularly to prevent discrepancies.
- Maintain systematic filing of financial records and support documentation in preparation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in payroll preparation and verify the accuracy of employee compensation and attendance records.
- Prepare and review petty cash vouchers, ensuring appropriate management approvals are secured before disbursement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other hotel departments to gather financial data and resolve billing or expense discrepancies.
- Provide reliable support during month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior working experience in the hospitality industry is a distinct added advantage.
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles such as GAAP or IFRS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and popular accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or enterprise ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
