About the Role
SkyNet Worldwide Express is a globally recognized leader in express courier, freight, mailing, and logistics services. We are currently seeking a meticulous and analytical Internal Control Officer to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding company assets, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining rigorous operational compliance across our departments and branches.
Key Responsibilities- Review financial and operational transactions to ensure accuracy, cost control, and completeness.
- Ensure proper authorization and compliance with established company policies.
- Conduct regular internal control reviews across various departments and operational branches.
- Monitor financial and operational processes to identify errors, irregularities, control gaps, and potential risks.
- Review cash handling, expenses, payments, reconciliations, invoices, and other financial documentation.
- Identify weaknesses in existing processes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive controls.
- Investigate discrepancies, exceptions, unusual transactions, and other control-related issues.
- Follow up on audit and control findings to ensure agreed corrective actions are implemented.
- Support fraud prevention, risk management, and loss-prevention initiatives.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Administration to strengthen internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience in internal control, internal auditing, or risk management.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CFE are strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
