About the Role
The Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) is seeking a passionate and driven Internal Audit and Compliance Intern to support our Audit and Compliance team in Nigeria. Established in 2013, HSDF is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to improving decision-making and execution in the health sector. This paid internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in audit planning, financial review, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic, donor-funded environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support audit planning and execution across various departments and projects within HSDF.
- Review payment requests, vouchers, and financial records for proper coding, accuracy, and adequate documentation.
- Assist in preparing audit working papers, compliance reports, and documentation in line with professional standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to donor policies, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify bank reconciliation statements and review operational records such as vehicle usage logbooks and fuel consumption.
- Support risk assessment, risk reporting, and the continuous monitoring of internal controls.
- Organize, archive, and manage audit and compliance documents and working tools.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Banking, and Finance with First Class or Upper Second-Class honors.
- Must have completed the NYSC scheme with 1 to 2 years of post-NYSC cognate experience in accounting and auditing services.
- Strong aspiration to become a professional accountant.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
