About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier hub of medical excellence, research, and education dedicated to holistic wellness and compassionate patient care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Instrumentation Technologist to join our dynamic Laboratories department. In this vital role, you will ensure the optimal performance, calibration, and maintenance of specialized medical and laboratory equipment, directly contributing to accurate diagnostics and top-tier healthcare delivery within our multidisciplinary teaching hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair medical laboratory instruments and technological devices.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks to minimize equipment downtime in the laboratory.
- Troubleshoot technical faults and coordinate prompt repairs with external vendors when necessary.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment complies with national and international health and safety standards.
- Maintain comprehensive logs of equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, and repair histories.
- Provide technical support and guidance to laboratory staff on the proper operation of instruments.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare and research teams at GOUNITH.
- Possess a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology or related engineering field from a recognized institution or College of Health Technology.
- Demonstrate relevant post-qualification experience in instrumentation and laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Must be duly registered with the appropriate professional regulatory body and possess a valid practicing license.
- Strong ICT compliance and digital literacy skills.
