About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leading center for academic excellence and entrepreneurship, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our academic community as an Instructor II (Science Laboratory Technology) within the School of Science. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging theoretical lectures and practical laboratory sessions for students across National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
- Supervise student laboratory experiments, research projects, and practical assessments, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist senior academic staff in curriculum development, revision, and implementation within the Science Laboratory Technology department.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, manage inventory of chemical reagents, and ensure a clean, safe, and functional working environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings, student academic advising, and institutional committees as assigned by the management.
- Engage in continuous professional development, research, and community service initiatives relevant to applied sciences and education.
- Possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- Must present a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern laboratory techniques, scientific equipment handling, and safety standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills suited for an academic environment.
- Prior teaching or laboratory instruction experience in a tertiary institution will be an added advantage.
