About the Role

Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leader in technical education, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor II in Building Technology to join the Department of Building Technology within the School of Environmental Studies. In this vital academic role, you will contribute to our mission of providing high-quality, practical instruction and training to prepare students for successful careers in commerce, industry, and the built environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, practical workshops, and tutorials for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students in Building Technology.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in alignment with current industry standards and NBTE guidelines.
  • Assess student performance through continuous evaluations, assignments, practical tests, and examinations.
  • Supervise student projects, industrial training (SIWES), and practical construction-related exercises.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and institutional development initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, research, and community service relevant to the built environment.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Technology or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
  • Possession of a mandatory NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of building construction, drafting, estimating, and structural principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills suited for an academic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and mentor students effectively.
