About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leading center for academic excellence and entrepreneurship, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our academic staff as an Instructor II in the Department of Animal Production Technology under the School of Agricultural Technology. Established in 1947, YABATECH has a rich history of providing top-tier technical and vocational education, fostering innovation, and producing industry-ready graduates across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in Animal Production Technology to National Diploma and Higher National Diploma students.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in line with current industry standards and National Board for Technical Education guidelines.
- Assess student performance through continuous evaluations, assignments, practical examinations, and project supervisions.
- Conduct relevant research in animal husbandry, agricultural production, and livestock management to contribute to institutional growth and community development.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic committee works, accreditation exercises, and community service initiatives.
- Mentor and guide students on academic performance, career prospects, and ethical professional practices within the agricultural sector.
- Possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Production Technology or a closely related agricultural discipline from a recognized and accredited institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- Must possess a mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or exemption letter.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern agricultural techniques, livestock management, and animal science research.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a passion for teaching and student development.
