About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our academic community as an Instructor I in the Science Laboratory Technology department within the School of Science. In this role, you will play a vital part in training the next generation of scientists and technologists by providing top-tier practical instruction, conducting research, and fostering hands-on technical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging practical instructions and laboratory sessions for students across National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
- Design, fabricate, and maintain functional laboratory equipment and project prototypes relevant to Science Laboratory Technology.
- Supervise student projects, practical assessments, and laboratory experiments to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with academic staff to develop and update laboratory manuals, curricula, and instructional materials.
- Maintain inventory control and ensure proper functioning of all laboratory apparatus and safety gear.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology or a related discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification cognate experience, backed by verifiable evidence of producing or fabricating at least one (1) functional project in the relevant discipline.
- Alternatively, a serving Instructor II with a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory cognate experience on that cadre, including evidence of functional project fabrication.
